High Atlas Mountains Day Trip

DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMLIL - AROUMD 2100m - MARRAKECH

You will start a walk with a guide to Aremd village (1900 meters) from imlil. On the way you will be able to see traditional Berber villages and see the highest peak in the North of Africa, Jbel Toubkal (4167 meters).

After about 1 - 1,5 hours, you will go to a traditional gite (guesthouse) to have a wonderful lunch. From here you willhave a beautiful view of the Mizane Valley. After lunch it will be a 30 minute walk back to Imlil.

Essential Equipments:

  • Small First Aid Kit e.g. insect repellent, plasters, meds

    Meals: You will have the opportunity to enjoy typically Moroccan meals (tajine, couscous,.). Fresh products, canned food as a complement, meat bought in the mountains. Picnic or salads for lunch, hot ready-cooked meals for dinner. 
    We use a big tent to preparing the meals, and a mess tent to eat. The water flows out from the mountains is very pure but you should treat it otherwise to use bottle water instead of water from the sourse .

    Travel inside of morocco: For transfers between Marrakech and the starting or end point of the hike, we use minibuses or four-wheel drive vehicles or taxis depends on size of the group. During the days of the trek , mules or camels carry the luggage.
