Day 1 : Marrakech - Hotel:
Arrive and check in to your hotel.transfer to Marrakech and explore the city

Day 2 : Marrakech - Ait ZITOUN :
Leaving Marrakech we visit the local market in the village ofLalla Takerkoust before driving to the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains to begin our trek.
After breakfast, you depart Marrakech for the High Atlas Mountains. Should the opportunity arise, you’ll visit a local market on the way. You’ll stop for lunch and meet the muleteers who’ll be accompanying you throughout the trek. After lunch you begin the trek to Ait Zitoun (1,050m), crossing river valleys and passing fields and olive groves .Approx. 1½ - 2 hrs driving; 4 hrs walking.

Day 3 : Trek To TIZGUI & AIT AHMED :
Trek through idyllic forest landscapes to Tizgui (1,600m) for magnificent views of the Haouz plain. Continue to Ait Ahmed.
Trek through idyllic forest landscapes to Tizgui (1,700m) for magnificent views of the Haouz plain. You have some steep uphill sections today before descending towards Ait Ahmed (1,300m) for the night. Approx. 5-6 hrs walking.

Day4 : Trek to KETTO :
We hike on trails and unpaved roads through the Angoul Valley, following the course of a river. We pass little Berbe²r villages, shaded by huge walnut trees.

Day5 : Trek to ANAMRO :
Ascend a 2,000m pass from where we have superb views of the Amizmiz mountain chain. Descending the other side, we pass through evergreen oaks and juniper woodland en route to Tniret village. After crossing another pass we reach Anamrou. We have the chance to take a 'hammam' to soothe our weary legs.

Day 6 : Trek To ADDOUZ :
We descend through the valley and cross a pass through oak and pine forest until the village of Addouz. The afternoon is free to relax or explore further.

Day 7 : Trek to AMZMIZ :
Follow the river to the village of Amizmiz, passing many traditional villages along the way. After lunch we travel back to Marrakech.

Day 8 : Marrakech :

Essential Equipments:

  • Good walking boots and socks
  • Shoes - change for evenings
  • Water, carried by camel
  • Water bottle or camel back (recommended)
  • Water purification e.g. iodine
  • Day sack/backpack
  • Sleeping bag (3-4 season); plus thermal liner in winter
  • Scarf to wrap around your head in a sandstorm
  • Personal items: towel, sunscreen, wet wipes, loo roll
  • Toiletries that are eco-friendly e.g. soap, shampoo etc.
  • Small First Aid Kit e.g. insect repellent, plasters, meds
  • Sunglasses.
  • Torch/Flashlight and spare batteries e.g. head torch
  • Fleece (summer)
  • Layers, windproof jacket (autumn-spring)
  • Hat for summer and warm beanie for winter plus gloves

    Meals: You will have the opportunity to enjoy typically Moroccan meals (tajine, couscous,.). Fresh products, canned food as a complement, meat bought in the mountains. Picnic or salads for lunch, hot ready-cooked meals for dinner. 
    We use a big tent to preparing the meals, and a mess tent to eat. The water flows out from the mountains is very pure but you should treat it otherwise to use bottle water instead of water from the sourse .

    Travel inside of morocco: For transfers between Marrakech and the starting or end point of the hike, we use minibuses or four-wheel drive vehicles or taxis depends on size of the group. During the days of the trek , mules or camels carry the luggage.
